Clouds have been an object of fascination throughout history and Da Vinci spent hours studying them. This class will explore the basic forms of clouds and their implications for color in the landscape. Fine tune your powers of observation in this very focused and exploratory workshop. Instructor Kathy Beekman receives rave reviews from her students. She creates a comfortable learning environment where class participants excel in the world of soft pastel. Metal-Smithing in a Morning- with Francesca Morales Cook, owner of Out of My Hands Studio

Create your own unique pendant in this introductory metal class.  Students will use equipment such as a mini-torch, disc cutter and dapping block while learning several basic metalwork techniques.  No previous jewelry experience is required. Class size is limited so that Francesca can give every student one-on-one guidance.  Each crafted adornment will be as unique as each participant. All tools are provided. Bring a sack lunch, safety glasses and reading glasses (if needed).

During this 4-session class, we will cover many aspects of the poured acrylic painting technique.  We will discuss paint recipes, pouring mediums and additives.  We will also learn about different methods of pouring paint and explore the results of each method.  Students will have the opportunity to try each technique and will develop their own individual style. This is a fun, messy class, so students should be prepared to get their hands dirty!
