This class will cover the basics of book binding.  During the first class, we will learn about tools, paper, techniques and terminology.  I will introduce 2 styles of books and students will make simple versions of both of them.  Students will select their favorite style and will create a finished journal during the second class.

Calligraphy, the art of beautiful handwriting, is a fun and useful way to enrich your life. Add a personal, artistic touch to shopping lists, place cards, invitations, envelopes, journals, scrapbooks, and other creative projects. In this workshop, students will learn how to properly use the pen with selected lettering styles and to visualize and layout text with proper spacing for everyday writing tasks. This class is perfect for beginners and for those who would like a review of calligraphy basics.

Learn to frame like a pro, no experience required. This workshop is geared towards artists and covers the technical basics, including proper framing tools, hands-on mat cutting and conservation mounting of your artwork.  Further information will be provided in regards to the proper framing of different art media and where to purchase framing materials. Kathy Beekman has been working as a professional custom picture framer for over 20 years and brings museum-grade skills in framing to this workshop.

Mom and Me Jewelry Making 

Create a wonderful memory with your child while learning to create beautiful jewelry with beads.  These easy to master wire working techniques will allow you to make jewelry for yourself and friends.   Students will have the opportunity to complete a beautiful smaller project during the class, while developing the skills they need to launch into a bigger project of their own design, and have some special time with a special person in your life. No prior experience necessary, but all levels are welcome. (Children 6 years and older, plus $10 materials fee)
