The CWS has grown over the decades and now counts over four hundred members. Their membership represents a wide range of experience levels, from beginners to experts, from amateurs and hobbyists to seasoned professionals, including nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. Painting styles, subject matter and media are equally varied, encompassing traditional, representational transparent watercolor, more contemporary, experimental and abstract watercolor, as well as collage, mixed media, ink-resist, acrylics, casein and other media. Diverse in their approaches and cohesive in their love of art, CWS members make this a welcoming, vibrant and inspiring organization! The CWS annual show is the premiere event for its members and in 2017 we will be honoring FAC’s vibrant watermedia community by hosting this well established exhibition. Call for entries is managed by CWS.
A play on the term used in restaurants, amuse bouche, meaning a bite –sized appetizer. Amuse Yeux is a mixed media small works show which will present the visual equivalent in a refined gallery setting. The motivation for this show was to provide an opportunity for young adults in our community to begin art collections at an entry level price point. Often times the exceptional artwork for sale in the galleries of FAC can be cost prohibitive to the masses. By hosting a show of small works, many of them created just for this instance, we can lower the price of the works without sacrificing quality. The staff at FAC invites you to enter small work in any media (guidelines below) in a show that is sure to be the delight of all our visitors.
This show will be juried by Eriq Hochuli, Exhibitions Manager with the aid of the FAC Board of Directors.
Online Entry Submission Deadline: May 1st, 2017
Exhibition Dates: June 8th, 2017- August 13th, 2017
Entering Exhibitions Online Through CaFÉ
CaFÉ (which stands for Call for Entry) is one of the more popular websites for entering exhibitions online, and it’s the one that FAC uses for all of our juried exhibitions. We even make it less expensive to apply through CaFÉ – plus, we give you longer to apply!
One of the best things about CaFÉ is that they have great step-by-step instructions to help you use their website. Learn how to apply to calls for entry using CaFÉ. They make it very easy to set up a profile, search for opportunities, and apply to exhibitions.
Exhibiting at Foothills Art Center
