Reception and Awards Presentation
Friday, July 16, 5:30 - 8 pm

The North American Sculpture exhibition makes its return to Foothills Art Center this summer after a four-year hiatus. Established in 1979, the exhibition boasts a roster of highly-acclaimed former jurors, including Donald Lipski, Alison Saar, and Manuel Neri. This year's jurors are Lawrence Argent, John McEnroe and FAC curator Michael Chavez.

Lawrence Argent is a professor of art and the head of sculpture at the University of Denver. His work includes the commissioned Colorado public art piece "I See What You Mean" at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver (pictured at left).

John McEnroe has recently completed four major public art commissions in Denver, and was featured in the Denver Art Museum's latest Embrace! exhibition, alongside some of the top contemporary artists in the world.

Michael Chavez has served as Curator of Exhibitions and Education at Foothills Art Center since December 2005. In addition to curatorial duties, Chavez is active in the Colorado art community, serving on public art committees and jurying exhibitions for other organizations.

North American Sculpture 2010 will feature a wide range of sculptural perspectives from traditional to contemporary.

The deadline to enter North American Sculpture is May 21.
