This workshop is designed to encourage artists to work intuitively with two unique processes – gelatin printing and encaustic painting. On day one we will be printmaking with “gelli” plates using a variety of papers; no press needed, fast and fun!
In her entertaining and accessible debut, Quinn mixes biography, art history, and women’s studies to shed light on 16 women artists. As a college student assigned to read H.W. Janson’s History of Art, Quinn was disturbed to find no discussion of women artists in the first 500 pages; in total, only 16 women were listed as artists.

A live house band will play an original score to accompany the entirety of the film while a few lucky audience members will be selected to contribute sound effects.
