During this class, each student will create a self-portrait sketch including a head, neck, body, arms, legs and feet. These pieces will then be cut out of clay slabs. Once the pieces are fired, the body parts will be colored and assembled using wire. These clay self-portraits can then be hung at home as a wall piece. Students will also explore using silkscreens and Designer Liner "glaze pens" to add images to the flat surface of a mug and plate that they make. These will be glazed so that they are food-safe, microwaveable, and dishwasher-safe.
